Run Report – 17 July 2023

A tale of two races.

There was quite a lot of disappointment on the cancellation of the Haytor Heller run last Saturday, a favourite in the race calendar of many in BVR – but understandable due to the severe weather conditions predicted out on the moor.

Meanwhile those booked for the Chudleigh Run on the day before were blessed with a fine summer evening.

The just over 5-mile run starts outside the, now closed, Bishop Lacey pub and takes you on a short loop of the town before heading down towards the A38. There is then a left turn down a short hill before the start of the long climb 3km up and out of the town. One of those climbs that lulls you into thinking you are at the top, before it gives you another climb up. Finally, you head down the hill on the East of the town, past the cricket ground and back down the high street to the finish.

Rob White completed the run in 46:55, Larissa Sullivan 52:28, Richard Gray 55:27, Beth Woodley 58:58, Beccy Kennedy-Bruyneels 1:00:14

The Killerton duathlon is a challenging event consisting of a 3km run within the Killerton Estate, a 19km bike ride on quiet Devon roads, and a 5km run to finish at Killerton.

Pete Waygood finished in 1:25:35 and Jenny Williams in 1:39:56
