A brilliant week for Bovey Valley Runners with plenty to celebrate. Firstly 7 of our members participated in the Dawlish Coaster’s Oh My Obelisk! race.
Although a muddy race the marshals made up for it with their positive attitude. Debby Chew, Victoria Latham and Alice Chew all participated in the 9-mile with Alice Chew placing 2nd lady, a massive achievement! Alice 1:19:06, Debbie 1:41:55, Victoria 1:41:56.
Maurice Raymond, Maddy Smith, Jack Sealey and Dan Hubball ran the half marathon distance. A huge congratulations to all who participated especially having to force themselves through the mud they all managed to keep a smile on their face for the finishing lane photo. Jack 1:45:50, Maurice 2:01:39, Maddy 2:04:45, Dan 2:04:46
An extra special congratulations to Anna Gocher for placing 3rd female in the Coast-to-Coast Copper Trail Noir in Cornwall on Saturday evening. The runners were set to navigate a trail from Devoran Quay on the South coast to Portreath on the North coast, setting of at 5pm and racing in the darkness. For safety reasons they were given a map and GPS tracker. Anna completed the 12 miles in 1:42:12.
