Eight members of Bovey Valley Runners completed the first Winding Paths Summer Trails at Dartington on Saturday evening. The new 10km race resembles the previous Final Countdown route so there was some familiarity of the riverside paths, woodlands, hills, and open fields.
The event took place at 6.30pm, with the hot and still weather making the going tough. The terrain was dry and dusty with steep inclines. However, the wooded areas provided very welcome shade, and the pretty route made it all worthwhile.
