This inaugural event offers a marshalled route along some of the most beautiful footpaths that you’ll find on the fringes of Dartmoor. Taking in stunning woodland trails, panoramic views from moor to sea, country lanes and farmer’s fields. This is the path less trodden, so well worth taking part to discover this new route for yourself.
The 10km route is challenging with 192m of height gain in the first half of the course. With that said, what goes up must come down so there’s loads of fun downhill sections in the second half – exactly when you need them. The 5km race is much more approachable. Still a good challenge with some hills at the beginning but if you can run the Parkrun at Parke, then this will be a good race for you to have a go at.
There will be two water stations on the 10km route and one for the 5km route and every participant will receive their finishing time, a medal and a bottle of water at the end.
All proceeds from this event will be split between the FABS charity supporting Blackpool Primary School’s new playground project and the Bovey Valley Runners organisation, supporting local running initiatives and charitable causes.
